Invitation to Confession
When the Lord comes,
he will bring to light things now hidden in darkness,
and will disclose the purposes of his heart.
Therefore in the light of Christ let us confess our sins. 1 Cor 4.5

Introduction to the Peace
In the tender mercy of our God,
the dayspring from on high shall break upon us,
to give light to those who dwell in darkness
and in the shadow of death,
and to guide our feet into the way of peace. Luke 1.78f

The sacrifice of God is a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart God will not despise.
Let us come to the Lord, who is full of compassion,
and acknowledge our transgressions in penitence and faith. Psalm 51.17

Since we are justified by faith,
we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

God has revealed to us through the Spirit the secrets of the human heart,

Let us in penitence open our hearts to the Lord
who has prepared good things for those who love him. 1 Cor 2.9f

God has made us one in Christ.
He has set his seal upon us
and as a pledge of what is to come

God the Father forgives us in Christ
   and heals us by the Holy Spirit.

Peace to you from God our heavenly Father.
